Our Favorite Pup Products

I frequently get asked what products I use and have for the dogs. In this post, I have listed our favorite Sookie and Ivy approved products. For a quick shopping view and list of all recommended products, visit the dog products idea list on my Amazon Storefront (note: I make a small commission when purchased through this link).

Food & Treats

ZiwiPeak Air Dried Dog Food and Single Ingredient Treats

The main food I feed the girls is ZiwiPeak Air Dried Beef and Air Dried Tripe and Lamb recipes. This has been their main food since 2017 after struggling to find a dog food brand that agreed with Sookie’s stomach.

In case you’re unfamiliar with the brand, ZiwiPeak is a complete and balanced small batch dog food made from meat and seafood ethically sourced from New Zealand in whole-prey ratios. It contains 96% meat, organs and NZ green mussels and does not include peas or legumes. Having two senior dogs, feeding ZiwiPeak makes me feel confident the girls are getting the best diet possible without the inconvenience of raw!

While it is a more expensive food option, I have seen excellent benefits from it, including good weight management, better joint mobility, and a decrease in stomach sensitivities. To check out their food options (for both dogs and cats) and get guilt-free treats and chews, head to ziwipets.com

Duck Feet

In the mornings, I give the girls a dehydrated duck foot ($2.49/foot). It helps keep their teeth clean and is a good source of glucosamine.

Stewart Pro-Treat Freeze Dried Liver Dog Treats

My favorite treats to buy are the Steward Pro-Treat Freeze Dried Liver treats. They are USA-made single ingredient, all natural dog treats. I purchase the largest size available (21oz bucket) and it lasts me several months. Treats can easily be broken into smaller pieces and used as training treats. The girls LOVE them.

Accessories

Julius K-9 IDC Powerharness

Our go-to dog harness is the Julius K-9 IDC Powerharness. We have used this brand harness for 5 years and have no intention of changing to something else. We have custom patches with both of their names. Sookie and Ivy are 44lbs and 41lbs (20kgs and 18.5kg) respectively, and both use size 0 harnesses.

Grooming

Duoxo Shampoo, Spray and Wipes

*Before using the following product, talk with your vet as these products are medicated*

The girls sometimes get skin irritation and rashes and I use these three products to treat them. First and most potent, is the Duoxo medicated shampoo ($35). A single use usually handles any skin irritation the girls have. For on the go and between-bath options, they have a spray ($24) and medicated pads ($21).

Furbliss Brush

I use the Furbliss Brush ($13) for deshedding and coat maintenance.
